“UTI has been a regular partner of the Imagine America Foundation for two decades,” he said Robert Martin, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Imagine America Foundation. “Since our inception in 1982, we have continued to focus on professional education, ensuring that students acquire the skills and professional qualifications needed to meet industry standards and employer requirements, which now includes electric vehicle maintenance includes. We work closely with employers to understand their needs, just like UTI. The longevity of the relationship between our two organizations is a testament to the enduring benefits it creates for all involved.”

“As one of our long-standing relationships, the Imagine America Foundation is a tremendous supporter of colleges like ours and we greatly value their work,” said UTI’s CEO Jerome Grant. “The thousands of graduates who have received scholarships from the foundation are now contributing to the workforce in the transportation industry and beyond, and more scholarship recipients are attending UTI this fall. This is a win-win for UTI students and our employer partners who are looking for trained technicians.”

The Imagine America Foundation offers scholarships to prospective students pursuing careers in aircraft and avionics, automotive service, CNC machining, diesel engine service, HVAC maintenance and repair, motorcycle service, and welding. UTI offers programs in a number of these areas and continues to introduce updated training programs to match student interests in electric vehicles. This includes an updated electric vehicle curriculum in its Automotive Technology program as well as its Manufacturer Specific Advanced Training (MSAT) programs such as Ford FACT and Volvo TEKNIKER.

Currently, demand for labor in the transportation sector is significant nationwide, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimating a combined average of more than 146,000 new job openings per year for automotive, diesel and welding jobs in the US[1]
