A plug-and-play home energy storage system is attracting the attention of thousands of consumers with its recent Kickstarter campaign. Silicon Valley-based charging technology company Zendure’s SuperBase V, which officially ends November 20, has raised over $5 million. The company’s advanced energy storage boxes are versatile and powerful enough to power an entire home and portable enough to meet energy needs on the go.
Semi Solid State Batteries
The SuperBase V claims to be the first home energy storage system to use semi-solid state batteries. At 228 watt-hours per kilogram (Wh/kg), they deliver up to 42 percent more energy per pound than traditional lithium iron phosphate batteries. According to Zendure, customers using their battery management software can expect the SuperBase V’s internal battery to last at least 10 years.
“Semi-solid-state batteries also pose a reduced safety risk if damaged, which is critical to home energy management,” the company says. “The extra capacity is ideal for long-term outages.”
The SuperBase V can be scaled for different performance requirements. A single unit can deliver up to 3,800 watts (W) of power, while two connected units can deliver up to 7,600W. This amount is enough to power a typical washing machine, dryer, heater and refrigerator at the same time. For maximum wattage, two SuperBase V units, each with four satellite batteries, can be stacked for a total capacity of 64 kilowatts (kWh).
Power your home for a week
With the maximum battery configuration, the SuperBase V has enough power to power a typical home for a week or more. This means you never have to worry about a power outage as the SuperBase V will turn itself on automatically in the event of a power outage. You can also use Zendure’s Time of Use app to monitor, manage, and adjust your energy usage and save money on regular energy bills.
Should a natural disaster ever hit your area, you still have enough energy to weather the worst. Alternatively, if you are simply willing to go off the grid, you can connect the SuperBase V to a solar panel system and figuratively cut the cord to your utility.
Unbound camper life
The Zendure satellite battery also features an Anderson connector to meet all RV and RV electrical needs. The modules can also generate up to 600 W of solar power via the XT90 connection. For those who really want some peace and quiet in remote areas, the SuperBase V TT-30 connector can deliver up to 30 amps to 120V RV or RV equipment.
Charge electric vehicles on the go
With its 2 EV sockets and up to 12,000W of power distribution, the SuperBase V can charge two electric vehicles quickly and simultaneously, so you never run out of car battery in an emergency. In addition to powering your cars at home, Zendure’s plug-and-play system can charge your EV on the go and between charging stations, extending your range indefinitely.
Intelligent virtual assistant interface
For added ease of use, the SuperBase V can be connected to smart home assistants like Alexa and Google, allowing customers to turn it on or perform other functions using voice commands.
Zendure’s Kickstarter campaign far exceeded its original goal of $10,000, attracting over a thousand backers and over $5.3 million in pledges. The base SuperBase V model is currently priced at $2,699 and is expected to ship in December 2022.
